It’s been a hot minute since I last posted on the blog but I promise y’all I’ve had a very good reason and all will be revealed shortly. I realised I didn’t get round to finishing my review of the Kerastase Nutritive products I bought and how effective I found them for straightening my hair. Well this is me remedying that.
Nutritive Immersion Pre-Shampoo Treatment
I’m a big fan of pre-shampoo treatments so was quite excited to try this product. It has a very creamy consistency without being too thick. The instructions say to apply it to dry or damp hair. I preferred to apply it to damp hair as I got a better and more even coverage. I found that it immediately softened my hair upon application and this softness lasted throughout the wash process. I liked this as my number one pre-poo treatment, PK Elastisizer Extreme also has the same effect. In fact, I found that combining the two products gave me a combo that not only made my hair super soft but made detangling a breeze. All in all, this product is a keeper.
Nutritive Bain Nutri-Thermique Shampoo
The first time I used this product I was very meh about it. It’s not drying, nor it is it super moisturizing. It has very little slip but won’t leave your hair feeling stripped either. I just found it confusing. It wasn’t until about the third time I used it that I realised it does exactly what it needs to do which is to prep the hair for heat use by gently cleansing. It does this with its super foaming abilities. This shampoo has suds for days and it really began to grow on me.
Nutritive Nutri-Thermique Hair Masque

Nutritive Nectar Thermique Nourishing Cream
This product is probably my favourite of all the new Kerastase products I tried. It’s basically a leave-in conditioner and heat protector, which you apply to damp hair prior to blow-drying. It’s got a very silky feel with a little bit of slip and a little goes a very long way. This may sound weird, but I can feel the product working when I blow dry using the tension method. My hair doesn’t have that dried out feeling I get when I use other leave-ins or protectants.
Verdict
I am really happy with this range of products as they do exactly what they say on the tin. My hair is left feeling soft, hydrated and protected every time I use them with direct heat. I also love the results I get when I straighten my hair after using these products. Never dry, fried or crispy and I also get good straightening that last for days
